ACME Supports the Broad Street Run
May 9th, 2014
This past weekend, ACME was proud sponsor and supporter of the Blue Cross Broad Street Run, the largest 10 mile race in the country.
With 40,000 participants, the Broad Street Run draws more racers than the Boston or Chicago marathons. The run is managed by the Philadelphia Department of Parks and Recreation who use the event as its primary vehicle to create comprehensive health, wellness, and nutrition programs for thousands of children in almost 100 recreation centers in Philadelphia.
ACME donated 80,000 individual bottles of water and an additional 35,000 gallons of water-enough water to fill two average sized swimming pools. The Broad Street Run had an active commitment to sustainability and took measures to ensure recycling measures were in place for the event.
ACME also announced a $15,000 donation to the Philadelphia Department of Parks and Recreation to support their youth health and wellness programs.
