Live Littleneck Clams and Live Black Mussels
Jun 26th, 2014
These Live Littleneck Clams are farm raised and our Live Black Mussels are Wild Caught. Both are sent to us from right here in the USA. They are rich in nutrients and proteins and low in both calories and fat. Perfect for summer! Mussels, Clams & Oysters can be substituted for each other in many recipes. They are best when boiled, steamed, roasted or grilled. Check out this recipe below for a delicious clam bake that will be sure to please everyone at your next BBQ.
Clam Bake, served with Melted Butter and Fresh Bread
25 Fresh Live Littleneck Clams in shell, scrubbed
1 lb. bag Fresh Live Black Mussels, cleaned
1 lb bag Jumbo EZ Peel Raw Shrimp
8 medium red potatoes
1 (48 oz.) can chicken broth
1/4 c. dry vermouth, white wine or bottled beer
Place potatoes in a layer in the bottom of a large pot. Cover with a layer of clams, then mussels, and finally the shrimp. Pour in the vermouth and enough chicken broth to fill the pot halfway. You may not need all of the broth, depending on the size of your pot. Cut half of the butter into cubes and place on top of the seafood. Cover with a lid, and seal tightly with aluminum foil. Bring to a boil, then simmer over medium-low heat for 45 minutes. Remove from the heat, and carefully remove the foil and lid. Remove the seafood and potatoes from the liquid to serve. Serve with Melted Butter & French Bread.
