Distribution Centers are part of the Supply Chain
Services of SUPERVALU. Our distribution business is the supply chain
backbone for grocery retailers around the country, as well as our own
retail operations. SUPERVALU operates one of the largest grocery
supply chain networks in the country. Through 35 product distribution
centers, SUPERVALU manages the delivery logistics of products from
hundreds of manufacturers to more than 5,000 retail end points.
Distribution centers may vary in size and structure. Depending on the
distribution center they may have various departments which include
warehouse, transportation, maintenance, sanitation, truck shop,
accounting, human resources, procurement and IT.

Office
Jobs could be hourly or salaried (may be union or non union depending
on the facility). Examples of possible positions available: department
manager, buyer, accountants, superintendent, supervisor, computer
operator, inventory control coordinator, accuracy control monitors,
human resource specialist, dispatcher, quality control inspectors,
department specialist, and clerk.

Warehouse
Jobs are hourly (may be union or non union depending on the facility).
Example of possible positions available: warehouse order selector,
driver, truck shop mechanics, building maintenance, maintenance
mechanics, or engineers, sanitation, janitor, warehouse other (repack
or pallet repair), and truck shop service person.
Warehouse order selectors may work in different departments including
cold environments. You may want to poll other DC’s to see if they are
different.
