ACME’s Eve Gigis, Janis Levit, and Marianne Nice-Trionfo have been named to Progressive Grocer’s 2013 Top Women in Grocery listing for their outstanding efforts as retail leaders, their community involvement, and their success in the supermarket industry. Progressive Grocer is a leading grocery industry trade magazine.

Eve Gigis, an ACME assistant category manager of grocery, does an exceptional job of managing over 100 vendor accounts in a number of categories and exceeding every goal. She is instrumental in ACME’s relationship with the Philadelphia Eagles. In addition to her day to day responsibilities, Eve supports community events whenever possible. She was the driving force behind the “Lace Up Against Bullying” anti-bullying campaign alongside vendor partner Frito-Lay during National Bullying Prevention Month in October 2013.

Janis Levit, an ACME district pharmacy manager, is noted for not only meeting her responsibilities to the 34 pharmacy locations that she leads but also for being a key contributor in rolling out My Rx Care, a membership pharmacy saving program that provides individuals and families immediate savings on prescriptions. Janis has worked with her team to enhance ACME’s offerings of wellness programs such as immunization clinics, patient consultations, health screenings, and educational classes to help those living with diabetes and other chronic conditions.

Marianne Nice-Trionfo, the ACME customer service manager, leads the ACME commitment to exceptional customer experiences in all 110 ACME stores across 4 states. Marianne was instrumental in instituting the “Stepping Out for Service” initiative where cashiers engage and invite customers to enter their line to enhance their shopping experience and leave them highly satisfied.  In addition to her daily responsibilities, Marianne is a champion of ACME’s philanthropic efforts across the Delaware Valley, leading ACME’s involvement in many events throughout the year including the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Philadelphia, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walks in Delaware and New Jersey, Muscular Dystrophy Association fundraising, and the Girl Scouts Take the Lead project.

“We are very proud of their inclusion in the 2013 Top Women of Grocery listing,” emphasized Jim Perkins, president of ACME. “They are truly hard working team players and leaders with a deep understanding of our industry. Most importantly, they all dedicate themselves to helping our teams provide our customers with the best ACME experience every time they visit and that’s what really counts.”

The Top Women in Grocery awards recognize the integral role women play across all areas of the retail food industry.  Candidates are those who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, wielded substantial influence in their companies and in the industry at large, and been deeply involved in their communities and related philanthropic activities.

Lynette is the cashier I always look for when at the check out line. She is courteous, fun to talk to, and is always very helpful! I would like the manager at the Knollwood store to know what a gem she is. She is located at the Acme Supermarket on Knollwood Road in Greenburgh NY.
