    $5 Grocery Gift Card

  2. Penny Sass 17/04/2015 at 3:27 pm

What a tremendous ripoff this is. I have hours into checking and computer time. You have winners listed above and considering the # of gifts you have available. This is a scant number is appalling. Next year if you run this again I will immediately start shopping at another grocery. You should be ashamed of yourself and fire the people responsible for this promotion. I would not be surprised if you did not have a lawsuit for false advertising.

    • Customer Care 18/04/2015 at 2:34 pm

I’m sorry that you feel this way, Sass. The game is not over yet, and prize winners are not posted until the prizes are claimed. We do value your patronage in our stores, and I will be sharing your concern with the Marketing Department. I hope you have a good day. ~Liralen.

  3. Ares 19/04/2015 at 10:19 am

I guess I am not the only one not hap.py with this sweepstakes, seems this is the second year I have notice no winners at my area. I received 33 tickets in one days shopping and nothing, not even 2.00 winner. I rather for my daily shopping get offers for pots or dishware, at least you feel getting something for your money.

    • Customer Care 19/04/2015 at 7:01 pm

We’re sorry to hear of your disappointment with the Monopoly Game, Ares. All game pieces are distributed to our stores at random, so there’s no telling where the winners will come from. Be sure to enter the online game codes here: http://www.playmonopoly.us for more chances to win. ~Thomas

  4. Tom 20/04/2015 at 12:01 pm

From what i understand, Acme is only one of many large companies participating in this contest. The reason you see Acme having so few winners is that the prizes are split between many companies.

    • Customer Care 20/04/2015 at 7:05 pm

Thanks for sharing your concerns, Tom. While we do have the Monopoly game running at our other stores, each company has its own prize pool for their individual customers. You can view the odds of winning for each prize here: https://www.playmonopoly.us/view/rules. ~Thomas

im very disappointed in the Acme in Voorhees.
Address: Eagle Plaza Shopping Center, 700 County Rte 561, Voorhees Township, NJ 08043
    Phone:(856) 782-1122
I had a coupon to make an item free and they would not allow me to you use it. your store is not coupon friendly at all and for this I will never shop in your store again and I will always share my bad experience with friends and family

    • Customer Care 20/04/2015 at 7:29 pm

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Megan. We will forward your concerns about the coupon policy to our Marketing team for further review. If you would like to be contacted back about this please let us know. ~Thomas

  6. CJ 20/04/2015 at 6:32 pm

Hi there, where are the names of all the $1K grocery card winners posted for the online game contest? According to the rules, 40 winners should have already been chosen. Also, are the prizes shared between all the groceries stores in the franchise? For example, is the $1M between Acme, Osco, Albertson’s, etc.? Thanks in advance for your response.

    • Customer Care 21/04/2015 at 7:05 pm

Hey CJ, those are great questions. There are only 10 $1,000 grocery cards available to win throughout the whole promotion. We have posted some of the winners on our website already, and we will post more as we get them. When the game ends you can mail in a request for a list of all of the big prize winners. Also, the prizes are shared between all of the stores. Have a great night. ~Mikayla

  7. CJ 22/04/2015 at 12:24 am

Hello, I asked a question that I don’t feel was properly address. Based on the statement below in the rules; did those drawings not occur. If so, why haven’t the names been published? Also, why did the person previously respond that there are only 10 $1000 grocery prizes when the rules state that there are 75 prizes available? Thanks in advance for your response.

To play the Online Game, your browser must be configured to allow session cookies. When you register (see detailed instructions above) and play the Online Game, each Online Coupon Code you submit will be automatically entered into a random drawing for a chance to win one of seventyfive (75) $1,000 Grocery Gift Cards or one (1) $15,000 Cash prize in the MONOPOLY Sweepstakes (“MONOPOLY Sweepstakes”) beginning on February 4, 2015. Random drawings for the MONOPOLY Sweepstakes will occur on February 17, February 24, March 3, March 10, March 17, March 24, March 31, April 7, April 14, April 21, April 28, May 5, May 12, May 19 and May 26, 2015. Five (5) winners will be selected in each drawing. A Grand Prize Drawing of $15,000 in Cash will be drawn on June 16, 2015 from all entries received timely received at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (“EST”).

  8. CELINE JAKMIAN 22/04/2015 at 1:05 pm

This really is a total scam!!! I have coupons that are duplicated a 100 times!!! I am at the point of giving up! I am a regular shopper at ACME & I guess I’ll just have to shop elsewhere.

    • Customer Care 23/04/2015 at 8:02 am

Hello there, Celine. We appreciate you taking the time to share your comments with us regarding the Monopoly Game. We are sorry to hear about your negative experience and we will make sure that your experience is shared. We do randomly distribute the tickets to increase everyone’s odds of winning. ~Stephanie

  9. Izumi 22/04/2015 at 6:42 pm

this sweepstakes is a joke me and my family and friends (40) of us have noticed old tickets are still being past out over here (where else are they suppose to go) in the trash ya right the store employees say the new tickets are in but all of us keep getting old tickets we share going 3 times a week supporting albertsons in highland Ca as our store . looks like none of us will be returning as well as familys as the old saying goes everyone persons knows at least
1,000,00 people times that by 40 shame on you albertsons for allowing yourselfs to look bad.

    • Customer Care 23/04/2015 at 8:09 am

Hello, Izumi. Thank you for sharing your comments on the Monopoly Game. We will make sure that your experience is forwarded so that your complaint can be looked into. Have a great day. ~Stephanie

  10. ed 24/04/2015 at 7:21 am

ridiculous game..waste of time..will not shop acme when you have this scam game. shoprite here I come!! your marketing department better rethink their promotion. I know a lot of people who are frustrated with this game and wont shop at acme in somers point nj…pay attention to your customers!!!

    • Customer Care 24/04/2015 at 2:35 pm

Good afternoon, Ed. I regret hearing of your disappointment with our Monopoly Game. I’ll have your comments reviewed and I hope you have a nice weekend. ~Shasta

  11. MONICA 25/04/2015 at 11:26 am

Dear Acme I see that you respond to every comment and that’s great, but its sort of generic when your response is that you’ll forward the concerns over to someone else. When your customers feel like they’re being scammed you should take notice. There are more Shoprites than Acmes at the moment and that speaks volumes. Acme promotions brings in customers do you really want to loose them too ?

    • Customer Care 25/04/2015 at 5:01 pm

Hi Monica, I’m sorry that you feel this way. We do not wish to alienate our customers, as each one is valuable. Not all of our departments have access to the blogs. In some instances, sharing the information with different departments is the best thing we can do for the customer and their concerns. ~Liralen

  12. Cindy 25/04/2015 at 2:34 pm

I’m very surprised at the naivety of these comments. I do collect the pieces but have plenty of friends and family who do not and just throw their pieces in the trash even though they could have had the winning piece. There are hundreds of thousands of shoppers. The chances of winning is comparable to the lottery….most people will not win anything. I find the deals to get the tickets are fair priced so we’re kind of winners already.

  13. Sally Kelly 25/04/2015 at 4:50 pm

As the end of this game approaches, it is apparent that, once again, we won’t even have a $2 winner in any of the Cape May stores! This is a recurring theme with all of your games down here over the years. I shop at the North Cape May Acme daily, and estimate I have collected (and thrown out) almost 600 monopoly tickets, with nothing but time wasted to show for it. If all the winners are always in PA, don’t bother including us in your games!

    • Customer Care 25/04/2015 at 7:24 pm

I’m sorry you feel this way, but appreciate your participation, Sally. Game tickets are distributed at random to our stores, which may account for the lack of winners in your area. There are still a lot of the larger prizes out there left to be claimed. Your concerns will be taken into consideration for future promotions. ~Liralen

  14. Jenny 25/04/2015 at 8:08 pm

I too, hate this game 🙂 but will play because, you never know. If we have the joy of this contest again, can you make the boards easier and the codes shorter? It is time consuming to put all my effort in and get nothing 🙁

    • Customer Care 26/04/2015 at 7:26 am

Sorry to hear of your disappointment in the game, Jenny. I’ll be sure to share your suggestion regarding the game boards with our marketing department. Have a good day. ~Cindy

  15. dan 27/04/2015 at 7:27 am

don’t be so apologetic..your game is a scam and your customers know it.. what a horrible marketing department you must have…sounds like its run by casino executives!!!

    • Customer Care 27/04/2015 at 2:38 pm

Thanks for your feedback, Dan. Your concerns are duly noted, and will be kept in mind for future promotions. ~Liralen

  16. marie 27/04/2015 at 9:03 am

I am playing the Monopoly once again – as I am forever hopeful but how about we increase the winning chances for those of us who are playing – and it won’t cost Acme anything. Listening?
As the tickets are randomly dispersed among the stores and as many folks just toss the tickets as they are not playing (and possibly winning tickets) – how about each checkout person ask customers if they would like their game pieces or if unwanted, that their game pieces may be given to the next customer in line who is playing?
Maybe we will hear more about winners that way?

    • Customer Care 27/04/2015 at 2:53 pm

What a great suggestion, Marie. I’m listening, and will be sharing your idea with the Marketing Team. Have a great day. ~Liralen

  17. Leesa 27/04/2015 at 12:59 pm

This game is being played all over the country, not just in the Tri-State area. Does that mean the prizes are total for the entire country?

    • Customer Care 27/04/2015 at 6:11 pm

Hi Leesa, great question. Each division of our stores (ACME, Jewel, etc.) have their own prize pool. ~Thomas

  18. Ed 27/04/2015 at 9:09 pm

http://www.playmonopoly.us website is broken. Won’t even allow me on to enter any of the tags I have. Seems like a ripoff…

    • Customer Care 28/04/2015 at 5:37 am

Hello, Ed. We are able to access the website. Were you able to register or sign in if you are already registered? Did you receive an error code of any sort? You can also contact the Online Game Support team at http://www.playmonopoly.uc/game/contactUs. Thanks for stopping by. ~Stephanie

  19. john 29/04/2015 at 8:27 am

strange that all the posted winners are from southern n.j. & pa. an unusual number of winners in pa. i don’t think this contest was well thought out….but people have to justify thier jobs and come up with something….but wasn’t it.

    • Customer Care 29/04/2015 at 1:18 pm

Hi john, thanks for sharing your observations. Please keep in mind that winners are not announced until the prize has been claimed. Have a great day! ~Cristina

  20. David Edenzon 29/04/2015 at 3:31 pm

I wasn’t given a game board, just game pieces. Can you post a picture online so I can see how many units are necessary for each particular prize? When McDonalds does this promotion, they also post which are the “winning” tickets, as in the million dollar ticket number that they only print one of, etc. I have 2 million dollar pieces, but have no idea if one is the real “winner.”

    • Customer Care 14/05/2015 at 6:24 am

I am very sorry that you were not provided with a game board, David. I am not able to post a picture of the actual game board online, but I would recommend checking with your local store to see if they have a game board for you. Have a good day. ~Cindy

  21. jeff 12/05/2015 at 10:28 pm

Maybe you show stop all this stupid contest and bring your prices more in line with Shoprite. I throw my tickets in the trash, life is to short!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Customer Care 14/05/2015 at 6:27 am

Thank you for your feedback, Jeff. I have shared your comments with our marketing department for further review. Have a good day. ~Cindy

  22. Buck 12/05/2015 at 11:50 pm

    Attention Acme shoppers!!
You might want to ease up on the gas a bit. Slow down and think about what’s got you so incensed…..a SWEEPSTAKES!!
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve played this Monopoly advertising ploy the past 2 years, this being my 3rd. I realize the chances are slim, AT BEST, of winning more than a $1.00 coupon. But I’m also not fooled into thinking that a handful of people from my area wil win tens of thousands of $$$’s. I’m still buying the groceries whether they have the little black tickets or not. I’m very sorry for you if your leaving the store with a cart full of items that you’ll never eat….all for the black “golden” ticket.
Basically, if you read the odds of winning, you’ll have answered all of your own questions.
Anyone here won the Publisher’s Clearing House lately?????

  23. JMB 13/05/2015 at 1:53 pm

I am a loyal Acme customer. I go out of my way to shop at Acme since I do not have one in my town of North East MD. I love the freshness and quality of the products. Yes I could shop at Walmart/Food Lion or others.

I have played Monopoly for years and have never won a thing. Winning free tickets is not a PRIZE!! Going through the trouble of entering those codes and only to win 2 more free tickets (yuck). Like eating a pie eating contest and the winner gets more PIE.

Loyal customers deserve better than this, The chances of winning need to be increased. Instead of more free tix give me $2.00 off my next purchase, the free tix are a nuisance.

Come up with a new game that pays to win!!!

    • Customer Care 14/05/2015 at 6:26 am

I’m sorry to learn of your disappointment in the Monopoly game, JMB. We certainly appreciate any, and all feedback as it helps us when developing future promotions. I have shared your comments with our marketing department for further review. Have a good day. ~Cindy

  24. Sue 13/05/2015 at 7:48 pm

I think that you should have one million dollar prize and less of the other big prizes and a lot more small prizes. Maybe more of us could win something.

    • Customer Care 14/05/2015 at 6:28 am

Thank you for your feedback, Sue. I have shared your comments with our marketing department for further review. Have a good day. ~Cindy

  25. Kristin 13/05/2015 at 9:07 pm

This is the second year in a row that I have played this game. It’s also the second year in a row that I seem to be one or two game pieces away from winning everything. My last few trips I’ve gotten no matches. it just tells me that it won’t happen. There seems to be quite a pieces that are all the same on every trip, and others that will never turn up, just like last year. I imagine Acme has some way of making sure certain game pieces go to certain stores in order to make it more difficult to actually win anything.

    • Customer Care 14/05/2015 at 6:29 am

I’m sorry to learn of your disappointment in the Monopoly game, Kristin. We certainly appreciate any, and all feedback as it helps us when developing future promotions. I have shared your comments with our marketing department for further review. Have a good day. ~Cindy

  26. Debbie 16/05/2015 at 3:10 pm

Some of you should ease up-it’s just for fun. Not everyone is going to be a winner. It’s a sweepstakes. You have a better chance of being hit by lightning. I haven’t won any big prizes but I have won a package of snackpack pudding, a pack of gum, Lysol wipes and Velveeta Cheesy Skillets. My college-age kids appreciates the “freebies”. To the promotion department-in the past you had a winning coupon for a free donut-my kids are asking that you include those next time around.

    • Customer Care 16/05/2015 at 7:03 pm

I’m glad you’re enjoying the game, Debbie. Your feedback is valuable. I love donuts too, and your comments will taken into consideration for future promotions. Have a good rest of your day. ~Liralen

  27. Kristen 18/05/2015 at 10:34 am

This is really a terrible waste of time for most of us who will not earn a single prize for spending thousands of dollars at Acme. At least with the pots and pans, you earn when you spend and the more you spend, the more you earn. With this game, I have spent hours opening, peeling, reviewing, the numbers to no avail. I am one ticket away from winning most everything on the board and have been for a month. It’s really a terrible game and does make one not want to shop at Acme anymore. If you value your customers, don’t waste their time. If you want to earn loyalty, give us something for our loyalty to your stores.

    • Customer Care 18/05/2015 at 3:15 pm

I’m sorry you feel that way about the Monopoly game, Kristen. Our customers and their comments are valuable. Your feedback on the game will be taken into consideration for future promotions. ~Liralen

I can understand that it’s a sweepstakes and that not everyone will win, but the problem is that the game is very time consuming. It takes at least a half hour to open and peel and match every ticket after a big shopping trip. If it wasn’t so much work, I wouldn’t care about not winning.

  29. Cheryl 19/05/2015 at 1:28 am

I have also been playing this since day one, I played last year as well. Everyone said try different Acmes the week that it was double tickets i went to 5 different acmes shopping for home, graduation party, and mothers house. I collected over 750 plus the 1100 i already collected I have won a red box movie rental as well as a 2.00 coupon off 20.00 (yes i said 2.00) Not included all of the tickets that I have enter online very discourage from this game as well as Acme its pretty bad when even the employees (more then 2 have ask) ask me if I really believe in this game seems such a small list of winners and seems that most of winners are out of PA guess our little town dont get any good tickets.. with 80 more that i have to take tomorrow wondering if worth my time

  30. Debbie 19/05/2015 at 10:47 pm

I thought you didn’t have to pay to win. I asked (at 9:58 at your Bridgeton NJ store for a game card and I was told no. What the heck? It is the last day of the game and there were hundreds of tickets left. Wouldn’t it be better to have more winners than more unclaimed prizes?

  31. Julie 20/05/2015 at 9:01 am

Bridgeton NJ ACME store sucks when it comes to handing out game pieces. It was the last day and not only would they not give out an extra ticket or 2 to draw in more customers, they actually shorted me a game piece when I redeemed tickets for free pieces. This is why I usually shop at Shop Rite and will continue to do so moving forward. If you are wondering why so many stores are closing maybe customer service is the issue?

    • Customer Care 20/05/2015 at 10:39 am

Thank you for your feedback, Julie. The associates are not able to give out extra game tickets as incentive, even if it was the last day of the promotion. You may view the official rules at https://playmonopoly.us. ~Jenna

  32. Jeff 25/05/2015 at 11:16 am

This game was a scam. With about two weeks left they even went so far as to turn off the ability of consumers to get win two extra game pieces by putting in the alpha numeric code. Before that I would regularly get two free tickets….then it all stopped!

Having played for three months and checked close to a of my thousand tickets you’d think I at least could have won a $5 gift card. Never won anything more then a free candy bar. What a joke!! With this being the way they reward loyalty I’ll be shopping at Jewel and Wegmans from now on!

  33. Frances 28/05/2015 at 6:07 pm

I understand that this is a sweepstakes, and its all about luck and chance, and I understand that this game is mainly for you to attract customers, but it seems to me that this game has frustrated people more than anything. I buy mostly natural and organic products, so needless to say, I spend A LOT on groceries, and have thus collected an obsene amount of these game pieces. what a waste of time… and paper! I have had the same empty spaces on my game board for months, all of the game pieces I get are quadruples of the ones I already have. I won a free kind bar, so that was cool for second til realized months later that it was the only thing I was gonna win from this silly game. Your prices are great, I will continue shopping at ACME on occasion, but frankly Shop Rite has a better selection and comparable prices. I’m ashamed to say that you lured me in for a short while with this Monopoly marketing scheme. I definitely wont be wasting my time with this game in coming years unless you make some kind of change. I agree with an earlier post from a customer named Sue. She stated: “I think that you should have one million dollar prize and less of the other big prizes and a lot more small prizes. Maybe more of us could win something.”

Thanks for “hearing” my “concerns” and I hope you “Have a great day!” too.

  34. Frances 29/05/2015 at 6:51 pm

Thank you for your prompt response, Jenna, I’m just saying that it’s ridiculous that even a $5 or $10 grocery gift card was so far out of reach considering how much money I, and many other good customers, have spent at ACME.
In response to “You can view the odds for winning at https://playmonopoly.us,” I suggest that the employees of the customer relations department view the comments of your disgruntled customers at this very website.
Just saying, ACME, throw out a few more small bones next time and it would make a world of difference.
ATTENTION CUSTOMERS: I shopped at the new Shop Rite today in Burlington, NJ across the street from ACME. It’s awesome, you should check it out. Remarkable selection, great prices, convenient location.

  35. Troy 30/05/2015 at 12:14 pm

I have probably opened close to 1000 tickets, spent hours and hours looking over numbers and haven’t won even so much as a $5 GC. This game is so terrible for odds of winning. Why not just do some type of instant game so I don’t have to waste an entire day looking over all these numbers. Not happy with this promotion or Acme right now considering the thousands I’ve spent acquiring all of these losing cards.

    • Customer Care 30/05/2015 at 7:04 pm

Hello Troy, thank you for reaching out to us. We will keep your concerns and suggestion in mind for future promotions. ~Faith

  36. Fish 01/06/2015 at 3:43 pm

Just my 2 cents – this game is a royal PITA. Not that I expect to win a million bucks – but the time required to open the tickets, stick ’em on the board and enter the online codes is just too much given the low chance of winning anything. Loved the Cuisinart giveaway. At least I knew I was guaranteed to get something. Sack the current marketing folks and hire some new, creative ones! Forward that to your marketing department!

    • Customer Care 01/06/2015 at 6:40 pm

Hi Fish, thank you for sharing your concerns regarding the Monopoly game with us. Your feed back is greatly appreciated and will be review for future promotions. ~Thomas

  37. Carmen J Bell Delgado 02/06/2015 at 8:16 am

I love This game! Males my shpping a suspense. This weekend i took my tickets that had free products, I hot $34 in free products. That was awesome. I am also a more picky shopper.
I notice that I keep entering my online numbers but nothing is coming up, which is very unusual. Does it mean I should not bother with the online entry?

    Thanks, Carmen

    • Customer Care 02/06/2015 at 9:48 am

Thank you for the positive feedback, Carmen. Online entries must be made by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on June 2, 2015. Hope this helps! ~Jenna

  38. Carmen Bell Delgado 02/06/2015 at 9:46 am

    I love playing monopoly!

  39. Kelli 04/06/2015 at 2:02 pm

After trying to contact the sweepstakes with no response I decided to try here. The online entry game codes list the date June 9th as the deadline for entering the codes, however when I try to access playmonopoly.us it lists June 2nd as the deadline and will not allow me to enter my codes. This is very frustrating and disappointing after all the time and effort using the game pieces on the board with no results. And now I run into this issue. I am very unsatisfied as a customer.

    • Customer Care 04/06/2015 at 4:27 pm

Hi Kelli, I’m sorry to hear of your frustrations. Prizes can be redeemed until June 9, however, the last day to enter online codes was June 2. ~Cristina

I also have a problem with the date on the tickets being 6/9 and now finding out that it is really 6/2 to enter the online codes. This is wrong. But, on a brighter note . . last year I won a $100 gift card and this year I won a $100 gift card and $25 cash. Sure, I would have liked a bigger prize, but I will take what I can get.

Hi Cindy, I apologize for any miscommunication regarding entry of the Monopoly Tickets. The last day for entry is 6/9 not 6/2. Congratulations on your prizes! Enjoy the rest of your day! ~Kiersta

This game was horrible. I love shopping at Acme. I go there every day because it’s close to my job. I have relatives who have worked there and it’s clean and the employees are friendly. These games that are being promoted are terrible. I’ve read some reviews and honestly they are telling the truth.. If you want to keep your good customers, marketing need to come up with better games to play and more prizes to win. All we see posted in our store are winners or fake winners from other areas all the time. I can’t believe that they would spend so much money on making all of the fake tickets. This is not lottery and it should be treated with the best interest of your customers designed to win something of value. If there is really no money to win why put your valued customers through all of the childish pain and time.. I am in an office of about 30 women and they shop there daily. It’s just not fair. Yes pots and pan and other prized or discounts to work toward are much better. I see that you have quite a few negative reviews/comments. Marketing really need to listen and act on what is at the best interest of your loyal customers.

This game is annoying and to much time is needed to participate. 250 game pieces later -For what? the coupons from the game are less than online or newspaper coupons. i could spend time clipping coupons and saving at the giant where I get discounted gas! – I feel like I was duped into starting to participate in this game…. and once you start you don’t want to stop – why not instant wins instead – this is not fun! seriously! Do another less intensive game! or collect stamps to buy something – anleast you get SOMEthing for putting in so much time to collect – I am sooo annoyed with ACME!!!

what are the yellow game pieces i see the cashiers have when they hand me the green tickets for monopoly how to you get a yellow pack of tickets?

Dozer, these game pieces are for the employee game. To create some excitement for our hard-working Employees, we have developed a completely separate “Employees Game”. It’s a companion game that plays in a similar way, but it uses completely separate game boards and game markers. Employees and members of their households are not eligible to play in the Customer Game and do not play for the $1,000,000 or $500,000 prizes. Also, the pool of prizes they are playing for is completely separate from the prizes in the Customer game. Having Employees playing a separate companion game in no way affects the chances of our valued Customers winning prizes in the MONOPOLY Collect & Win game. We hope you find this information helpful. -Julio
