I understand you will be opening a store in Blairstown, NJ (to replace the A&P here), and I’d like to know if you will be upgrading things in the store…such as the public bathrooms, which are a mess. I’m looking forward to being able to shop at Acme again, as I was a dedicated customer, when you were in Succasunna, NJ.

    • Customer Care 07/10/2015 at 9:58 am

Hi Diane, we’re excited to say that the Blairstown, NJ, location will be converted to an ACME. As part of the conversion, we will be focusing on providing our customers with fresh, full, friendly, and clean stores. We take great pride in providing really great stores that our customers love to shop. Looking forward to seeing you there!

  2. John 07/10/2015 at 8:20 pm

As I understand it, You will be taking over the A&P in Hopewell Junction, NY. Any Idea of when that location will make the change over from A&P to Acme. I would love to start shopping there. This would be the first, and only, location in my community.

    • Customer Care 08/10/2015 at 4:44 pm

Hi John – I’m happy to inform you that all of the new ACME store locations will be open by the end of November. We’re currently planning the logistics for the openings but we’re looking forward to seeing you at the Hopewell Junction store soon! ~Shasta

  4. Doug D 09/10/2015 at 12:16 pm

Do you know when the Ortley Beach A&P will be converted over? Although it’s 8 miles away from my home, and I’ll have to cross the bridge, I plan on doing all my shopping there. I don’t care so much for the other supermarkets in my immediate vicinity, but I love Acme.

    • Customer Care 10/10/2015 at 6:01 pm

HI Doug, I’m happy to inform you that all of the new ACME store locations will be open by the end of November. We’re currently planning the logistics for the openings but we’re looking forward to seeing you soon! ~Jonathon

Will you be relocating your Narberth store to the SuperFresh you’re buying in Wynnewood? They seem extremely close.

    • Customer Care 12/10/2015 at 1:44 pm

There’s room enough for everyone, Anthony, both locations will be kept open. ~Faith

  7. luee 10/10/2015 at 1:05 pm

    • Customer Care 11/10/2015 at 5:59 am

  8. Glenn Murphy 10/10/2015 at 8:13 pm

I would like to know if you will “RE BID” or “Purchase” the “Hackensack NJ”: Pathmark store..

It’s a NICE Decent Location for your company to “CHALLENGE the COMPETITION”: Stop & Shop Supermarket, and also “SAVE Peoples jobs”..

    Please reply on this issue..

I know that YOUR “OWNED” by a “Major Player Corporation” with “DEEP POCKETS”.. So what is the “Problem” with “Taking ON : Stop & Shop Supermarkets” in there Back yard so to say…

    • Customer Care 12/10/2015 at 1:53 pm

We are always honored when our customers invite us to their town, Glenn. However, the Hackensack location was not part of the purchase agreement. Maybe we can join you sometime in the future. ~Liralen

  9. Nicole 12/10/2015 at 5:00 pm

Hi, I live in Paterson, NJ and the Pathmark located in Elmwood Park was supposedly purchased by ACME. Do you know if this is true and if so when will the store re-open?

Trying to get a jump start on a 2nd job 🙂

    • Customer Care 13/10/2015 at 8:03 pm

It’s true, Nicole. All stores acquired in the merger should be reopening as ACME by the end of November. Hope to see you soon! ~Liralen

  10. Bob 13/10/2015 at 1:24 pm

When the Tinton Falls A&P becomes Acme, will the Shrewsbury Acme close?

    • Customer Care 14/10/2015 at 8:28 am

We have no plans to close, Bob. I hope you can join us soon! ~Liralen

  11. Tom 13/10/2015 at 3:34 pm

Was wondering if the Old Colony Pathmark on Grand St. in Jersey City will be converted to an Acme….

    • Customer Care 14/10/2015 at 8:39 am

Hi Tom, at this time there are no plans to convert the Grand Street location. Thanks for the great suggestion for the future! ~Faith

  14. Jocelyn 17/10/2015 at 10:50 pm

I just read the notice of A&P in brewster new york closing and re-opening on Oct. 28. I shop quite often and wonder if the same employees will be there when you re-open.

    • Customer Support 28/10/2015 at 2:58 pm

Thanks for reaching out, Jocelyn. We have hired or plan to hire substantially all of the store-level A&P employees at the stores we are acquiring. –Julio

  15. Gary 18/10/2015 at 6:37 pm

Looking forward to your new Mahwah location. Any chance that their bakery department will become Kosher like your old Clifton location? Rockland and Bergen counties have a very large Jewish population that would benefit from the change. Currently, there are a handful of Stop & Shop stores that certify many of their baked goods and was hoping ACME will do the same.

    • Customer Support 26/10/2015 at 6:14 pm

Thanks for the feedback, Gary. We’ll be sure to forward your comments and suggestions to our Retail Operations Department for further review and consideration. Thank you for your time. -Julio, Customer Support

  16. Michael Fox 19/10/2015 at 12:59 am

Since the company Is growing, will you now have to carry Safeway products also? I like Safeway products but they don’t belong in Acme and even their name had changed to Signature, which itself is unfortunate. Is there any way Acme can bring back th Acme home brand since it’s now a bigger division? The loss of the Acme brand has prevented me from making regular visits. Now even Acme milk us hone.

    • Customer Support 21/10/2015 at 5:56 pm

Thank you for the feedback, Michael. It is greatly appreciated. We will be sure to forward your comments to our Product Buyers for further review and consideration. Thank you for your time. -Julio

  18. Craig Steven Prentice 20/10/2015 at 7:04 pm

Hi … are there firm dates for the Manoa Shopping Center Super Fresh in Havertown , Pa. , to be closed down temporarily , to become an Acme ? Rumor {only} is that they will shut down November 15th as a Super Fresh , and will re-open as an Acme November 19th , or November 20th .

    • Customer Support 21/10/2015 at 6:54 pm

Thanks for reaching out, Craig. All stores acquired in the merger should be reopening as ACME by the end of November. Hope to see you soon! –Julio

  19. Marvin Brittingham 21/10/2015 at 8:55 pm

I was really hoping you would acquire both locations in Ocean City, MD from Superfresh. The 94th street location you all bought is a horrible location and in abandoned mall. The location on route 50 would have been a much wiser choice since there is a higher traffic volume there.

What are the plans for 94th street besides to put an Acme logo on the building and open it? MANY improvements are needed for that stone age location.

    • Customer Support 26/10/2015 at 1:58 pm

Thanks for your feedback, Marvin. Our focus will be on providing our customers with fresh, full, friendly, and clean stores. We take great pride in providing really great stores that our customers love to shop. We will be sure to forward your comments to our Real Estate Department for review. -Julio

  21. Lisa 26/10/2015 at 9:25 am

Could you tell me when Acme is opening in Hopewell Junction, NY (replacing A&P)?

    Lisa

Thanks for your inquiry, Lisa. All of the new ACME store locations will be open by the end of November. We hope this helps! –Savannah

  22. Denise Pilovsky 27/10/2015 at 6:45 pm

Hi, I am looking at your list of the stores opening locations. I was told that Barnegat, NJ was getting a store. Can you please confirm this? I was told that as of today that Acme will not be coming and now I am very confused.

    • Customer Support 01/11/2015 at 1:25 pm

Thanks for inquiring with us, Denise. You should see this location open in Summer of 2016. Hope to see you there! -Julio

  23. Norm 28/10/2015 at 9:17 am

It is my understanding that the SuperFresh on New London Road in Newark Delaware will not be picked up by ACME. It was on the original list. Can you confirm? Thank you.

    • Customer Support 01/11/2015 at 1:21 pm

Norm, we were excited about the opportunity to acquire this store. Unfortunately, we were not able to reach a lease agreement on this property. ACME will continue to serve this market with our existing stores and we look forward to doing so. -Julio

  24. Luis 29/10/2015 at 1:51 am

I am so happy to be working for ACME Markets once again, as I have previously in 2010 but sadly that store had closed… I was sooooo happy to hear that they bought the A&P in Jersey City on 18th street and are opening as ACME on Nov, 4th.. I am so looking forward to working with you guys again…

  25. Sarah 29/10/2015 at 12:34 pm

Is the 176 W Chelten Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19144 converting over to an Acme store or will it close?

    • Customer Support 02/11/2015 at 3:27 pm

Sarah, the Chelten Avenue store was not on our original list of stores bid on and we will not be moving in at this time. Thank you for your time. –Julio

  26. Michael Bender 29/10/2015 at 12:51 pm

The newly opened Acme in Denville, NJ is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. Our customers are very happy and excited that the store has opened (formally was an A&P). The only “complaint” is that the self check-out lanes were removed. Do you know if future plans include them being reinstalled because many of our customers prefer to use them when they are in a hurry. Thanks for listening!

    • Customer Support 01/11/2015 at 1:58 pm

Hi, Michael! Glad to hear you are enjoying the new Denville store. Sorry to hear that self-check out was removed from the store. We’ll be sure let our Retail Operations Department know you’d like to see this return to your store again. Have a great day! -Julio

  27. Janet 29/10/2015 at 2:13 pm

I am in Vernon NJ 07462 and Acme is replacing A&P and will open on Friday 10/30/15, however, when I try to sign up for MyMixx it asks for my preferred store and Vernon is not listed so I am unable to complete my registration. If I shop at Acme tomorrow for the opening how do I get my discount?

    • Customer Support 02/11/2015 at 1:40 pm

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Janet. Please feel free to return to the store with your receipt for a refund on missed discounts. Were you able to complete registration after the store had officially opened? We’d like to look into this. -Julio

  28. Kenny 31/10/2015 at 11:56 am

Is the current Pathmark on Aramingo ave in Philadelphia going to be an ACME again??? Thank You

    • Customer Support 02/11/2015 at 3:31 pm

Hi, Kenny. The Aramingo Avenue store was not on our original list of acquired stores. At this time, we will not be moving in. Thank you for your inquiry. –Julio

  29. Robert Suchocki 01/11/2015 at 10:11 am

I understand you will open an Acme Supermarket in Barnegat, NJ 08005 on West Bay Ave. I would like to apply for a position in the bakery dept. I worked for A&P in Clark, NJ in the bakery dept. I baked and did set up for following days bake. I live about 10 minutes for the store. I look forward to working for Acme.

  30. Cindy 02/11/2015 at 9:22 am

When will the Barnegat and Manahawkin ACME stores be opening. Looking forward to it!

    • Customer Support 02/11/2015 at 3:35 pm

Cindy, our Manahawkin store is set to reopen towards the end of the month. Hope to see you there! You should be able to visit our Barnegat store by Summer 2016. Stay tuned. –Julio

  31. Robert Suchocki 02/11/2015 at 2:46 pm

I see that someone inquired about this store and you wrote back saying that the store would be opening in the summer of 2016. I noticed there is a sign on the building that says opening early 2016. That mean around July 2016. This store would be perfect for me as I live about a mile from that store. Thank you for your help.

  32. James Curie 04/11/2015 at 2:55 pm

Very disappointed that the Acme in Barnegat NJ will take till the summer of 2016. After all your converting numerous A&P’s with in a few months of their closing and the Genuardi’s have been closed several years. Acme had the Genuardi’s location before any of the A&P’s went under. That really doesn’t leave me with a good feeling that the people of Barnegat have been put on the back burner.

  33. James Nolan 05/11/2015 at 10:22 am

Really looking forward to your ACME coming to Pathmark on Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington, De. Just signed up for MyMix so we are ready. Good Luck.

  34. James Curie 07/11/2015 at 9:05 am

I should have said this first.
    THANK YOU! ACME!
For opening in so many locations throughout NJ. Including Barnegat and Manahawkin, far too many companies would not even bother. It Will be great to see your sign throughout NJ

  35. Paula Butler 07/11/2015 at 5:45 pm

I am patiently awaiting the arrival of the Barnegat Store!! I can not wait to be able to shop there and finally give finance with in our own town instead of going to neighboring towns to purchase food! I was wondering though-When and Where can one obtain an application for that location?

  36. John M. 08/11/2015 at 1:11 pm

You got rid of the 4 self checkouts in the Weehawken store and replaced them with ONE express register??? The line was long this morning and the cashier had a problem. I put my groceries down and walked out. You need to open more than ONE express lane!!! Every other register had a long line. Sorry ACME but that’s getting WORSE than Pathmark.

    • Customer Support 10/11/2015 at 1:25 pm

John, thank you for your feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We will address your concerns with the Store Director. -Savannah

You guys should take over some of the Pathmark and Waldbaums stores on Long Island New York. I’m from Patchogue and work at the Waldbaums in Patchogue. My store was already sold to King Kullen so it’s too late for you guys to take over my store. But there’s plenty of stores that closed this week and other planned to close in the near future. You guys should look into purchasing some of the Waldbaums and Pathmarks that remain unsold on Long Island. I’ll probably look into working either an additional part time job with you guys or maybe a management position if they’ll be an opening.

  45. John Busseno 23/11/2015 at 11:57 am

I forgot to mention that there used to be a Stop & Shop on Rt. 23 North in Butler where I currently live. I would like to see ACME come to Butler one day.

  47. Silvio M. 02/12/2015 at 2:59 pm

Same complaint as John M. above. Really, getting better every day? At the old Pathmark in Market Square, Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia, Acme took a mediocre store and made it even worse. You removed six or seven self-checkout registers and replaced them with two “X items or less” lanes. Wow, 1983 technology, what an improvement!
On the day it re-opened as Acme, I complained to one of your store-opening people and he reassured me that customers would be rung out very efficiently. Today I finally went back to see at around 2pm, usually a very slow time in supermarkets. I had 5 items: there was only one register open, “15 items or less” and 7 people in line; the “10 items or less” lane was closed. After ringing out two, the cashier left her post to check an item price with a customer and did not return for a while. This confirmed my suspicions; I will not be coming back to this store any time soon. The Chestnut Hill area has very good options and a new Fresh Market will be opening on the hill in 2016. Hope you bring back self-serve registers.

  48. Peggy McCormick 02/12/2015 at 8:20 pm

Do you know whether ACME might be considering taking over the closed Lakeside Pathmark in Lake Hopatcong, NJ? That store used to be a busy thriving store until A&P took over then it turned into a convenience store for most of us living in Lake Hopatcong as the price s were out of control and the employees completely complacent.

    • Customer Support 06/12/2015 at 4:36 pm

Hello, Peggy. We do not have any information about that location at this time. -Julio

  49. Diane L 14/12/2015 at 8:35 pm

My Mother has a lot of gift cards that could be used at either Super Fresh, Pathmark and A & P. Is she going to loose that money or can she use these gift cards at Acme?

    • Customer Support 20/12/2015 at 4:50 pm

Diane, all of the closing stores posted signs informing customers to redeem their gift cards by 9/30. If you have a balance remaining, stop by your new neighborhood ACME and introduce yourself to the store director, he or she will attempt to remedy. -Julio

  50. Aan 19/12/2015 at 9:45 pm

  58. james 09/02/2016 at 11:31 am

Wow was so excited to see the Acme in Barnegat open before summer. Untill I shopped there. Why would acne markets leave that disgustingly filthy dark dingy ceiling, you couldn’t spend a few dollars to paint it? It makes me wonder how clean and sanitary the store is. With all the money acme spent remodeling amounts to nothing because the entire store old and filthy because you have this dark gloomy dirty filthy looking ceiling.
the only thing I can say is what a disappointment.

    • Customer Support 09/02/2016 at 2:46 pm

Thank you for this feedback, James. We will be sure to make the Store Director and our Retail Operations Department aware of your concerns so they may look into this further. Thank you for your time. -Julio

  59. james 09/02/2016 at 1:00 pm

Went shopping again today and noticed they were hanging signs from the ceiling. You could see the dust and dirt trickling down from the Genuardi’s. I also was wrong about Acme spending money on a remodeling. They only changed some of the floor otherwise it’s the old filthy Genuardi’s mostly same floor cracked broken dirty floor tiles , same grocery shelves, produce, meat, and deli cases. Did you actually clean them before you put the meat, produce, dairy and deli in them? I understand your expanding very quickly but you really need to spend a little money especially when the stores been closed for a few years.

  60. Roxana 10/02/2016 at 10:07 am

Hello, many concerned customers of the old Pathmark on Rt 15 are wondering when you are opening the New Acme? We really have no other local place to shop. Shoprite in Wharton is horrible to get in or out of. The community really needs an answer. Can you help? Thank you, Roxana

    • Customer Support 11/02/2016 at 10:21 am

  61. Betsy McGuire 16/02/2016 at 5:16 pm

Has acme considering coming to Pompton Lakes or Wanaque? Our local A&P closed in November and I see you are coming to Boonton. That is alittle too far for my local groceries but I have visited your Mahwah location and I loved it. I just wish you were closer to my home in Wanaque. PLEASE come to our neighborhood. Pompton Lakes or, even better, Wanaque ACME has a nice ring to it, No?

    • Customer Support 17/02/2016 at 12:07 pm

We certainly welcome your kind remarks and feedback, Betsy. While we are not currently planning to open a store in Pompton, we will certainly share your request with our Retail Operations Team for future consideration. We hope you visit us again in Mahwah or Boonton in the meantime! -Rebecca

Now it’s official that Acme is coming to Boonton, can you tell when you are planning to open this location?

  63. James Curie 24/02/2016 at 2:22 pm

Nice boneless chicken thighs are marked as boneless chicken breast, I pointed it out to a employee and they said we have to many of them and we are trying to get rid of them. The only problem with that is 2 days ago the thighs were $1.49 a pound now they are marked a $1.99 a pound. So the store raised the price and marked them as breast in order to get rid of them.

By the way, yes still a dark draby dingy store and only because of that DARK GREEN CEILING. What ashame that saving a few dollars by not painting the ceiling could have such a drastic effect on your shopping experience. Maybe by marking chicken thighs as chicken breast with the extra money the store will make they could paint the ceiling

An annoying little thing. I buy a lot of fresh vegetables yet IF there are plastic bags in which to put them there are no twist ties to close the bags. First week or two you opened (Kenilworth, NJ) it was fine, all stands had bags and ties, but after a few weeks it seems NEVER have ties and many bag stands are empty. Getting sloppy real quick.

    • Customer Support 12/04/2016 at 9:17 pm
