Thank you, Dan Croce, for bringing your supermarket brand to Barnegat. It will feel good again to be able to shop at my local, in-town store. I’m ready to be at your Barnegat market on a regular basis.

As Barnegat’s mayor, it was my privilege to be your very first customer at exactly 7:00 a.m., participate in your wonderful and generous ribbon cutting ceremony and, of course, to officially welcome Acme Markets to Barnegat.

Barnegat is a small town with a big heart; you will find us friendly and neighborly. Speaking for the entire Township Committee, and as you probably already well know, we are business friendly and accessible.

Your generous gifts to Barnegat organizations, along with the coffee, bagels and donuts you provided for yesterday’s Workshop Meeting were well received and very much appreciated.

Welcome to Barnegat! May God bless you.

The same old dark, dingy, draby, Genuardi’s now with an ACME sign on it. Their brand new LBI store is bright and clean and pleasant to shop. The Barnegat dungeon not so much. It was dark and UGLY when it was a Genuardi’s and some paint on the walls and some extra lights dose nothing to change that dark, draby, feeling. I just want to know why you didn’t paint the ceiling? Again the brand New LBI store bright and clean and appealing to shop in. Barnegat we got a dungeon.

I want to know if you guys will be buying the former A&P in Pompton Lakes, NJ? I am speaking for many of my neighbors and friends that I have spoken to when I say that we would really like to see you in our neighborhood.

    • Customer Support 16/02/2016 at 3:11 pm

  7. Sandy Navas 15/02/2016 at 8:24 am

My hubby and went in to the store on Saturday. It is truly wonderful to see life back in that building. It is bright and clean and I came across an very helpful young lady named Michele who went above and beyond to help me find what I was looking for. I came across two other employees who were truly genuine and ready to help us as well! What a win win for Barnegat. A great place to shop, employment and a boost for the economy here in our town. Good stuff!

    • Customer Support 15/02/2016 at 5:43 pm

Thank you for the positive feedback, Sandy! We’re so pleased to know of your satisfaction with the Barnegat store, and will be sure to share this with the Store Director and employees. We look forward to serving you and your community! -Rebecca

  8. Joanne V 16/02/2016 at 5:05 pm

I agree with Jesse from above. We would love to have ACME in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey. The former A&P was where most I did most of my family’s shopping. We have to resort to going to Stop & Shop in Wanaque now that the A&P has closed. Stop & Shop’s prices are way too high for us. We were hoping you would reconsider and come to our neighborhood shopping center here in Pompton Lakes. I called the landlord and he stated that they were hoping to fill the site with another grocery store. Hopefully it will be ACME!!

    • Customer Support 17/02/2016 at 12:03 pm

Joanne, we appreciate the feedback you have provided, and will be glad to submit it to our Retail Operations Team for future consideration. -Rebecca

  16. Michael 23/02/2016 at 6:53 pm

As an owner of one of the local businesses in the Pompton Lakes Towne Square Shopping Center, I would agree with most of the people above. Some of them are my customers and we really need another grocery store to come into our center for our community. It would help out the local stores too. We have a good tenant mix here; local shops like mine plus national tenants like TD Bank, Starbucks, Wendy’s, GNC, Supercuts, Planet Fitness Gym just in our center. Plus many neighboring businesses like Subway, H&R Block, & Domino’s Pizza just to name a few. ACME would be a great addition to our shopping center and community.

  17. James Curie 24/02/2016 at 2:28 pm

Nice boneless chicken thighs are marked as boneless chicken breast, I pointed it out to a employee and they said we have to many of them and we are trying to get rid of them. The only problem with that is 2 days ago the thighs were $1.49 a pound now they are marked a $1.99 a pound. So the store raised the price and marked them as breast in order to get rid of them.

By the way, yes still a dark draby dingy store and only because of that DARK GREEN CEILING. What ashame that saving a few dollars by not painting the ceiling could have such a drastic effect on your shopping experience. Maybe by marking chicken thighs as chicken breast with the extra money the store will make they could paint the ceiling

I remember in 1997 when the old ACME in Pompton Lakes burned down before they built the, now vacant, A&P in its place. I don’t know why ACME didn’t rebuild?? We loved the old ACME and would agree with others above. I hope you will come back to Pompton Lakes.

  19. Angela S. 01/03/2016 at 5:49 pm

Yea, I remember when Acme did burn down in Pompton Lakes too. Wow, that was almost 20 yrs ago. ACME why didn’t you rebuild? I haven’t lived there in over 10 years now but that is where my whole family shopped. Memories.

  20. Amber 01/03/2016 at 5:58 pm

My mother lives in the West Knoel condo/ townhome complex behind the old A&P in pompton lakes, NJ. She is 94 years old and that was the only place she could walk to get groceries. We would love for a grocery store to come in and open back up. We heard around town that you guys may be coming. Thank You in advance for the consideration.

  21. John Haskell 03/03/2016 at 6:04 pm

ACME, Why are you avoiding Passaic County, NJ? These people have been pleading with you to open in Pompton Lakes but I don’t think you have a store anywhere in our county. You have stores in Counties to the north, south, east, and west of us. Do you not like Passaic County or the people here? Do we not make enough money to shop in your stores? You didn’t buy the A&P in Wayne, Pompton Lakes, Paterson, or West Milford. I just want to know why you are avoiding us?

    • Customer Support 01/04/2016 at 5:42 pm

Thank you for your interest in having ACME in Passaic County. We are continuously looking for opportunities to expand the ACME footprint. While we may not be in Passaic County at this time, we do have stores close by in Midland Park, Mahwah, Elmwood Park, and Montclair. Come check us out!-Felicia
