Salmon

These salmon steaks are farm raised and flown in from Canada. They cook up perfectly on the grill or in the oven and pair well with fresh veggies especially if there’s garlic involved. Either way you serve it up, it’s likely to be a crowd pleaser as it’s not a very “fishy” fish and is easy to cook. These recipes below will give you a great place to start. Citrus Salmon

Ingredients (Prep Time 10 Minutes, Cook Time 15 Minutes)  Makes 4 Servings
2 tablespoons Mrs. Dash® lemon pepper blend
1 lb Salmon fillet, cut into 4 pieces
4 whole Lemon wedges
4 whole orange slices
2 tablespoon white wine

Directions
Preheat oven to 375° F
Spray a 9 x 9 x 2 inch pan with cooking spray
Lay fish in pan. Coat each fillet with Mrs. Dash® Lemon Pepper Blend
Alternate slices of lemon and orange on top of fish. Sprinkle fish with wine
Place in the oven for 5 minutes. Turn oven to 325°F and continue to cook for 5 minutes. Rest 3 – 4 minutes before serving.

 

 

 

Grilled Teriyaki Salmon Steaks

Ingredients (Prep Time 30 Minutes, Cook Time 15 Minutes) – Makes 4 Servings
4 Salmon Steaks, 6 oz. pieces
3 cups Kikkoman teriyaki sauce
1 tbsp. thinly sliced scallion

Directions
Marinate the Salmon for at least a ½ hour.
Brush the grill with oil to prevent sticking. Remove salmon pieces from marinade, place on the grill and cook them 5-7 minutes on each side.
Brush salmon continuously with marinade on each side throughout the cooking time.
Once cooked, remove from grill. Place salmon on a platter and sprinkle with fresh scallion slices.

 

 

 

Grilled Citrus Glazed Salmon Steaks

Ingredients (Prep Time 45 Minutes, Cook Time 30 Minutes) – Makes 4 Servings
Salmon Steaks (Approx. 1.5 pounds)
1/3 cup dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons lemon zest

Directions
Place the sugar, lemon zest, salt, and pepper into the bowl of a small food processor and process for 1 minute or mix in bowl with wire whisk until well combined.
Evenly spread the mixture onto the salmon and allow to sit for 45 minutes, at room temperature.
Preheat the Grill
Once hot, place Salmon on grill skin side down for 4 minutes. After 4 minutes, flip the salmon and cook until the thickest part of the fish reaches an internal temperature of 131 degrees F.
Remove the salmon from the grill and allow to rest, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Serve immediately with lemon wedge.
