Double Avocado Grilled Turkey Burger
We’re here for the avocado craze that’s sweeping the nation. This recipe doubles the amount of yummy avocado by folding into the turkey burger and placing some on top! Don’t forget to press a dent into the top of the burger for more even cooking!
Total cook time
- 2 medium ripe avocados
- 1 pound lean ground turkey
- 2 cloves garlic (grated)
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- lettuce leaves or hamburger buns
Preheat grill to medium (375º-425º). Scoop 1 avocado into a medium bowl and mash with a fork. Add turkey, garlic, salt and pepper to bowl. Gently mix until evenly incorporated, being careful not to over mix.
Divide and shape into four equal-size patties. Using your thumb, create a dent in the center of the patty, which allows for more even cooking. Place on grill and cook 6 minutes per side flipping once, or until the internal temperature reaches 165º. Remove from grill, tent with aluminum foil and let rest for 5-10 minutes.
Slice the second avocado and top each burger with 3 slices.
All recipe ingredients should be cooked to a safe internal temperature according to USDA guidelines. After preparing a recipe, please store any leftovers in the refrigerator.
