Cooking Methods: Soak rice 10-15 minutes for extra grain length (optional). For enhanced taste, add 2 teaspoon of oil or 1 tablespoon of butter and a pinch of salt for each dry cup of rice prepared (optional). To remove excess starch from rice, rinse royal basmati rice 1-2 times, then drain. For firmer rice, use less water and reduce cooking time. For softer rice, use more water and increase cooking time. Stove Top Method: Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in sauce pan with tight fitting lid. Once the water is boiling, add 1 cup of royal basmati rice, cover and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook for 15-20 minutes, or until water is absorbed. Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork and serve while still hot. Rice Cooker Method: Use Ratio: 1 cup rice to 2 cups water. See rice cooker manual for specific operation. Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork and serve while still hot. Microwave Method: (1200-watt rating) Combine 1 cup rice and 2 1/2 cups water in a microwave-safe container (2qts minimum capacity). Cover tightly with microwave-safe lid and cook on high power setting for 20 minutes. Remove from microwave. Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork and serve while still hot. Caution. Container will be hot. Microwave ovens vary, cooking times are approximate. Adjust cooking time as needed. Store in cool, dry place. Best when used by.
